From November 2012 to July 2013, I worked for the Welt der Wunder Magazin at the Bauer Media Group office in Hamburg, Germany. I was a staff writer and digital editor.
The English offshoot of Welt der Wunder Magazin in the United States is I.D. – Ideas and Discoveries. Stories are produced in the Hamburg office and then get translated. This is a story I wrote for the August 2013 issue, right before I left the Bauer Media Group to pick up my master’s studies at the University of Colorado Boulder.
I didn’t only work on stories for the printed monthly magazine, though. I was also the editor for the magazine’s Facebook page, which had roughly 18,500 likes at that time. Creating a user-content engagement strategy, I was able to increase interaction with our social media posts by 300 percent within three months.
Additionally, I was an editor for the eMagazine of the Welt der Wunder Magazin, available for purchase on iTunes.
Here’s the German original version of my story on the risk of concussions in sports.
